The CPSC has announced the recall of certain Siemens circuit breakers and load centers (breaker boxes). http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml10/10354.html
I'm looking for some recommendations on what might be causing this and possible solutions.
We've got an undergound/wireless dog fence (I'll omit the dist/brand info as I don't really think it's pertinent) that we've had for almost 3 years. Up until recently it's been pretty problem free but...
Is there going to be a difference in performance of a tool drawing 15amps (dust collector) if I plug a good quality 12ga extension cord into a 20a outlet vs. running another outlet closer to where I want the tool?
Obviously there is a safety risk with a cord laying on the floor but this is...
This is an improvement on my old Bin Sensor circuit. All 120V power through Remote Switch. 14/3 Romex from enclosure to Lamp/Photo-Eye. 12 V wall wart for Strobe Lamp not shown - connected to Remote Switch. Relay Bypass Switch allows continued DC operation after alarm when closed (useful...
All,
I'm in the midst of wiring my new shop, and I wonder if anyone has had either good or bad experiences using arc fault circuit breakers. I don't think that they're required in my application, but I'd thought about using them for the added measure of safety. However, somewhere I read that...
When the light beam to the photoeye is blocked by sawdust in a full bin (here it is done artificially), the photoeye switches power to its Red output and energizes the ''Ice Cube'' relay coil, tripping the normally open contacts to the closed position and opening the contacts carrying power to...
7W Candelabra at top will sit one side of Bin mouth and shines on dusk-to-dawn photoeye in lower handy box. Photoeye stays ''off'' as long as the beam shine through to opposite side. Switch on top handy box controls power to bin light and sensor. This picture, (flash in darkened room) shows...
6'' by 6'' x 4'' deep PVC junction box with 230 V Contactor at left and DPDT ''Ice Cube'' relay for Bin Sensor at right. Incoming power from a Remote Controlled outlet is fed through normally closet contacts of the ''Ice Cube'' relay to the coil of the Contactor. The Contactor then passes 230V...
I started a new thread so this wouldn't get lost in the original thread. As promised, below are two CAD (crayon alternative drawings :roll::roll:) of my cyclone high dust electric eye circuit and a mod to improve cyclone dust drum operation.
As you can see, the "dusk to dawn" electric...
In general, does anyone know how many electrical outlets one would place on a shop circuit. I am already assuming that it wouold be best to use 12 AWG wire for the outlets and that I should keep the lights on a seperate circuit.
Thanks for any input.
