I was going to update my WIP post, but found that it was closed. No prob'. I just opened a new one.
Just a reminder, this was a small set of drawers to go under my daughters' 3-story Barbie house. I designed in:
Two drawers for all the Barbies and accessories
A pull out shelf stained...
This is what it was destined for...
My girls were very excited to get this, but they thought it took a REALLY long time.
Next, they are going to 'embellish' it will Wall'ie flower and butterfly stickers.
Birch Ply & Solids, Pine Secondary with Pecan Drawer Fronts and Trim,
5 Coats Orange Dewaxed Shellace and Paste Wax
My own design... First try on drawers... used wood runners.
I started a thread in the finishing forum about 'Stain Options on Hickory (Pecan)', http://www.ncwoodworker.net/forums/showthread.php?t=41004. But at this point, I thought I would continue over here as a Work-In-Progress thread.
My daughters have a Barbie house with loads of pieces and parts...
I just cut the top trim pieces and routed the profile. Once I get the pecan gel stain (sample in right drawer opening) on the drawer fronts, slider shelf and top trim, I will be ready for final glue up, sanding and top-coat finishing!
Barbie House Dresser WIP Pics.
I got the drawers cut and dry fit. Will have to hold out on glue-up since I am going to Gel-stain the fronts.
The girls are excited and wondering when they will get to use it instead of just looking at pictures.
