The Cage, open view

The construction is 1/4 birch ply for the sides and back, with shallo V-grooves routed across to give a built-up look, and with 1" strips of craft-wood poplar glued on to help give a "crate" look. The face-frame and cage door are also poplar. The top, of the same construction, and the bottom of 1/2" birch ply, are painted flat black, and the body is lined with black felt.
