What’s that crazy thing ??

It’s a pedestal. I shot an elk this past fall while hunting in Colorado. This European skull mount needed a home. This is ambrosia with some wild contrasting color. The base (some sort of maple) came from a twisted up plank that came out of my grandpa’s woodshop from a project he made when i was a kid more than 45 years ago. I snagged it about 12 years ago when we cleaned out the house and i’ve been carrying it around ever since. Nothing too complicated here. Finish is Minwax warm satin.

Nice elk. Envious of that. Not allowed to decorate the house with animal parts - relegated to the shop attic
