Suggested tools for sharpening workshop.


Any of the Stanley/Bailey metal body hand planes or similar planes by various manufacturers. Old rusty ones will take a little more work, but this is the time to get them working.


Chisels; flat for cabinet and joinery work.


Spokeshaves, draw knives, axes, froes, adzes...


Card scraper.


Kitchen knives




Supplies.


Water, oil, or diamond stones
Sandpaper Wet&dry in 120, 220, 400
Honing guide
8" flat file or 4-in-hand file
2 clean rags or shop towels
water, oil, or WD-40 to match your stones
Small square
Magic marker

Hi Mike,

So I am considering investing in some diamond stones this week prior to the class. Do you have a recommendation on what grits would be good to have?
