I made this grooving plane recently, call me naive, but I did not anticipate how handy it was going to be.

Need a groove for a tray/drawer bottom? Just clamp the stock, grab the grooving plane, and plane your groove in a matter of seconds. No measuring, machine setup, nor test cuts.

Hank, I cheated and used laminated construction. Guess that I could only charge $125.

Mike you made what Stanley in the early 1900s had as a great hand tool, well done and enjoy joy hand made shop tools. In the 20 century a set of hand-planes from Stanley and others was the sign of a true woodworker. I have a set of planes from the early 1900s and for molding, dado's, rabbits are a great pleasure to work with and I still use them to this day. Truth is on many projects these old "planes" are quicker then setting up a router or dado set IMO.
