great timing Cathy! I've been on the phone w/ an agent who is going to research our needs and make suggestions w/ a quote. I'll go to the link and see if I can't educate myself better.

One of the questions he had was why we feel the need to be insured. I honestly couldn't answer him but
I did request he look into bonding me, as Treasurer and get a quote for that as well.

I'll forward his correspondence to you when I receive it.

I don't really know why we are looking either - other than it just seems like a good safety net for BoD members, and might make folks a little less hesitant to run for the board.

Was there a requirement in the Articles of Incorporation or anywhere else that we carry this insurance?

You guys need to download and read the Amendments to the ByLaws of NCWWI, found here. Section 9 covers the Indemnification requirements. It is there to protect the Officers of the Corporation.
