Bench Vise Advice

Does anyone have any recommendations on bench vises in the 9 to 10.5" range (not screw or shoulder vises)?

I am not looking for cheap, but value.

I can't offer any advice on which ones are good, but I can on what is bad. I bought one of the cheap chinese made quick release ones from enco and absolutely hate it. Everything about it is a hassle and it's not fit to be a decent boat anchor.

Unless you can find an Emmert Patternmaker's Vise, this is about the best you can get -- it is the Tucker Vise from Lee Valley Tools -- but it is not cheap!

Thanks, I have the cheap version of it on a bench and I am building a 2nd bench in the David Charlesworth design and needed a 10" - I just ordered the Jorgenson from Woodcraft online.
