Door frame details

Doors are hinged on (4) ball bearing hinges. Doors are skinned with 3/4 white oak raised panels, rails, and stiles. The edges are edge banded with 1/4 thick strips.

Top of cable gusset - attached at hinge side of door. The 1/2 all-thread has a nut on the end and is accessible from the edge of the door to permit adjustment. In four years, only one door needed adjustment of about 1/16"

Door frame details

Wanted insulated doors so I used this technique. LVL frame with half-lap joints/Titebond Type III. R-9.4 1.5" rigid foam insulation. Cable "gusset" to prevent door sag. Doors are 5' wide x 10' tall.
