raising dents in pine
I am trying to raise some dents in a SYP bed that has been finished with shellac. I have been using a hot iron to heat a damp cloth over the dented area. I am successful at getting the dent up. But... the shellac tends to distort (i.e. melt). I then end up spending more time than ever re... -

I don't know about most woodworkers, but when I am building small projects that have a top, bottom, and sides, like a small counter top spice cabnet, I like to fine sand the parts before assembly and glue up.
