Hey Mark,
For Walnut (apparently), I use some of the sawdust if it's very narrow. Pack some into the void, apply some thin CA, then pack some more sawdust down into the CA. Use wax paper or plastic between your pinkies and the CA or you may be wearing the glue-up for a bit! ;-)
When it's a bigger void like a knothole, I like to use coffee grounds.
Coffie Grounds? Do ell I have never herd of this please tell me mor.
Thanks Mark
p.s. Thanks for the CA glue tip I have forgotten about this. My wife is in Scotland and I get senile when I have so much nag free shop time.:rotflm:
The grounds are just a filler that the CA bonds. It sands and polishes nicely. Since the grounds are course they don't work so well in voids that are smaller. Sawdust works for those.
And careful with those SWMBO comments, they eventually find out everything, as you should know by now.
(or will soon)
