How do I get the private message notification to shut of after I have read the message, replied to it, and have even gone into the list and "marked it read". Short of logging out and re-logging in, it keeps popping up every minute or so. Very annoying.

Mark,

I've found that once you have read the PM and return to where you were, just click on "Home" to refresh the Index page (or if you were in a New Post Search sequence), press F5 to Refresh your screen. I think you are just keeping the notification in your cache.

I'll try that. I usually use the "back" arrow. Thank you

I believe its a known bug that the back arrow returns the PM to an unread state.

Rather annoying to say the least.

Hope Rob's solution fixes your issue. If not, let us know.

It appears that you both hit my head on the nail, or whatever. Now, if I can remember this the next time I get a PM (happens in spurts, sometimes months apart!! Old gray matter is leaking out into my hair, so doesn't function as well as it once did!):gar-La;

Thanks again :icon_thum:icon_thum

I have never had is problem, but I open all my PM's in a new window. When you see you have a PM click on new window and when done close it. Your problem should go away.
