My name is Roy and I am a woodworker.
I started with the usual situation of little money and a need. In my case, it was a dining room table. I saw the ad for 100 bf of walnut and I said I could make a table... Of course, it was rough-cut walnut so I had to buy a table saw and a sander. Luckily, I already had a Craftsman 3/8" drill and a jack plane. Since I was younger at the time, the hours spent on the table were not a problem. Finally finished with the table, more projects beckoned, more tools needed to be acquired, bigger tools needed to be acquired, different tools needed to be acquired, Japanese chisels were discovered, turning became a feature of things I did, my wife in desperation began to give my final output away.
Anyway, now that I am on a reasonable course of action in terms of woodworking I feel that this site will be of benefit to me. But I saw that Woodfast lathe in Wilmington which is only 2 hours away...
