Improving Cheap Aluminum Clamps

Absolutely. My experience also.

I use the heck out of those cheap HF clamps like that. They're just easy to use.

Thanks, Tarhead. I have stayed away from buying those clamps in the past, but will now pick some up. I have a garbage can full of SYP scrap of just about the right dimensions.

I as well watched this video and went straight to the shop and took 2 HF 5' clamps and added some poplar, it is like night and day. Can't believe no one ever done this before and now I might just buy some more at HF

I was laughed at here when I mentioned my affection for these clamps ~15 years ago.
