FredP Fred Corporate Member Sep 19, 2011 #2 I, usually just go with what looks good. usually around 3" to the skirt boards on a coffee or end table with the legs showing 1/2-3/4" proud of the skirts. depends a lot on the height of the table. A dining table would be set back more IMO.
