Exterior Trim

Maybe some of you can help me find a product that I have seen advertised that looks like exterior-grade MDF. It can be used to mill some of exterior trim pieces, but not be subject to splitting and cracking like wood. I understand it takes paint really well and machines easily.

Have any of you had experience with this product and what did you think of the long term results?

are you talking about the wood that is wood and plastic mixed? I know they use it a lot for decks.

MDO plywood. Often used in making outdoor signs, should hold well to the elements.

Another idea, there are quite a few companies out there making polyurethane trim for outdoor use.

I used AZEk Trimboards of my porch and they were easy to machine with wood working tools and take paint very well and will last a long time.

Not much experience with that material, but it sounds like it work good, but how much does it cost?

When I purchased my stuff 2 years a go a 1 x 6 x 16' cost about $30.00 and 1 x 12 16' was about $ 43.00. And it is available at a lot of locations in this area

WOW. They also offer 1" x 4' x 20' pieces. I don't even want to ask how much those are!

Now that you said that I think they were 20' long. They also make bead board paneling.
