End of Harbor Freight?

As I read this article Joe posted, I remembered the sawstop link and thread. I think these are good post and should be allowed. However, I'm thinking that instead of enabling a discussion by open thread these type of topics could be announcement only with no ability to respond.

What do ya'll think?

I agree that although Joe's post can elicit responses which are contrary to our posting guidelines it definitely has relevancy for quite a few of us who shop at HF. However I think that to close it off to comment smacks of heavy handedness unless the original poster chooses to do so. Hopefully we have enough faith that site users will follow the rules that we do not start preventing discussion because it "might" go bad. :wsmile:

Actually, I wasn't suggesting we close it only that we consider making this an example of trouble spots in the past and how best to deal with them.

I agree with your opinion that we might seem heavy handed and I don't want that. If we weren't already in talks about site changes I wouldn't have even thought about it.
