Celtic Knot

Since there has been some turning threads lately, I thought this may be of interest.

Many (most?) of you turners probably already know how to make a Celtic Knot, but I thought it was neat. A friend on another forum who lives in Tokyo just made his first Celtic Knot pen turning. I have seen this design on goblets and other turnings and always wondered how it was done. Here is the link to how he did it and more pics.

Here is goblet done by someone on SMC. I would guess the technique is the same.

I have been playing with that as well I tried it on the bandsaw and it didn't turn out very good. I am going to try it with the table saw next.

I clicked the video link and recognized that young man and the ultra clean shop right off. Great job, I'm going to have to try that someday.
