I am getting some burn with my stile and rail cutters on my shaper. Do any of you get this on hardwoods? Is this a dull cutter problem? If so who is good in the Rocky Mount, Tarboro, Greenville area to sharpen these cutters?
Burning is usually caused by too slow a feed rate or dull cutters. If you can't eliminate it by feeding more quickly then the cutters are likely the culprit. I can't recommond anyone for sharpening but I'm sure someone will. Some woods like Cherry are also more prone to burning but if your cutters are sharp and you are feeding at the proper rate it shouldn't be an issue.
