    ZCI Material

In my ongoing battle to get my shop up and running I am now looking at doing ZCIs for the TS and my SCMS. I'll probably do ply for the TS in the short term, but I'd like to make one that will accept replaceable inserts like this one. Any recommendations for material? For long term stability I...

    Stone ZCI ?

I have a Ridgid R4511 granite topped TS. I really like the saw but a couple near mishaps lately convinced me that I needed a ZCI for it. Commercial ZCIs cost over a $1 a square inch if you include shipping which just goes against my frugal nature. I had made one out of hardwood but...

ZCI for Ryobi BT3100 Table Saw

I purchased a Ryobi BT3100 Table saw a couple of years ago on sale. It has a lot of great features, but aftermarket accessories are tough to find in my opinion. While surfing the web, searching for other BT3100 owners, I came across this site: benchmark. I though this was interesting and...

I got the idea from http://benchmark.20m.com/tools/BT3100/BT3100_ZCI/BT3100_ZCI.html. It is made from baltic birch ply.

    Tablesaw ZCI...

I am in the need for a few new ZCI for my Griz saw (0444Z) to deal with the new full kerf blades I have coming. I know that I can make them myself, and have tried that. But I have never had much success with installing top mounted leveling screws. I have been using the ZCI that Griz offers for...

Why a ZCI is a good idea on a bandsaw

This morning I was thoroughly enjoying my new Minimax 16" bandsaw. I was ripping small (1/4") scrap pieces for my daughter's preschool woodworking area. Everything was going great until ... a piece got stuck in the table insert, jammed the blade, and messed up the guides, insert, and Lennox...

    Zero clearance insert

I put a dado in the edge and epoxied in two magnets. It doesn't vibrate at all. Pretty proud of myself because I came up with that one all by myself :) I also glued the block under the far side of the insert so that it wont' fly out...probably overkill.

    Zero clearance insert

I got this 24x40 piece of corian from the Habitat re-use center for $7. It made several really nice zero clearance inserts. Notice the holes for set screws. Who would have thought that you could tap corain and it would hold!
