This Intarsia Duck was a joint venture (My sweet lady, and myself worked together on this one), and it was the first go at the intarsia craft for both of us. Here are pictures of it before and after finishing (It is still wet in the picture, it is actually a satin finish). We made this last year...

I'm in the Charlotte (well Concord really) area and I'm looking for a fairly small quantity of 12/4 soft white maple for table legs. I really don't need a huge amount. If anybody has any place they would suggest I would be grateful. If I can't find it, I'll likely have to laminate some of the...
Anyone know where to get some soft silicone glue. I'm looking for the stuff that many commercial enterprises use as an easily removable glue - like the stuff that you see holding a new credit card to the bank's paperwork. The stuff that is rubbery and just peels off and leaves no residue...
If you are like me (my deepest sympathies), you save your scraps.
I'm working on a little Mortise chopping evening for the Hillsborough Orange Woodworkers group.
We are "pretending to make table legs".
So, looking for stock on the order of 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 square, 8" to 10" length...
There is a guy in NY that wants to use a table router to cut out fuselage sides for RC airplanes. Can anyone here pass along some advice on cutting soft wood shapes with a router?
Here is the tread if ya want to see what advice he's been given from the RCers...
Hey turners, I have a question and I apologize in advance for not having pics! Anyway, a friend of mine gave me an offcut of some 16/4 kd red cedar that he used to make a really nice table top. So I decided to cut it into a couple of small bowl blanks for practice. Things started well, the...
Hi Y'all, I am looking for a small supply of soft brass and copper to make jewelry and keychains from on the scrollsaw. Does anyone know of a good supplier of these metals? Thanks. Steve
I am going to make some stair tread out of soft maple. I know its a closed wood and can have some issues if you try and stain it. I also read that dye works well but have never used it and also not sure if you can use a oil poly on top or would I need to use a water poly?
What I am looking to...
I soft deleted the thread started by BigDog72 titled Watching the Ticker. I felt it was going to go bad in a hurry and now I have caught a little flack from it, which was anticipated. If anyone feels that I jumped too soon feel free to un-delete the thread. I felt like it was way too political.
I have a B&D 3/8" Hole Shooter drill that I use with my Kregg Pocket Screw jig. After years of using a keyed chuck ( which slipped by the way), I changed it out for a "Soft Grip Pro Keyless chuck a couple months back. There has been no slipage in the new chuck. Easy open and close. Well worth...
Morning all,
I would appreciate the advice of those with the experience to help me out on this...
I am building a kitchen island. The top will be subjected to pot holding, cutting, sliding things around and just good ole kitchen stuff. I plan to use the following for doing this:
White oak...
I soft-deleted FredP's post regarding containing the joke about a new element being found. One of the responding posts note that some offense was taken and that it might violate site policy.
If I went overboard here, let me know... I think I did a soft-delete.

Working on the next Kiln Dry Raleigh Lumber run.
As the lumber starts rolling off the mill I'll update this post with pics.
What you can expect is to receive is fresh rough cut, kiln dried and stabilized lumber to a target moisture content of 6 ~8%, that'll be ready to work as soon as you get...
Approx 300 BF of soft maple forsale, barn sticked and stacked, air dry 3 years. Owner is looking for $525.00 which is $1.75 a BF, rough sawn, 4/4 random width 4" - 10" and length from 4' - 10' long. Ted sawed this three years ago for a local guy and he never used it.
Thanks
Hi everyone we would like to try another lumber run for next Sunday (Jan 28th) in the Harbor Freight parking lot around 11:00 AM. I don't want to carry any more that 1000BF on my trailer, so if we reach 1000 BF we'll have to close this.
This time we would like to try Black Walnut and Soft Maple...
