    lumber processing plant tour

Does anyone know of a good lumber processing plant to tour. I'm looking for a complete end to end walk though tour from unloading logs from trucks to loading kiln dried S4S on trucks or RR cars for market. Thanks

    Raised plant beds

My wife wants me to build her a couple of raised plant beds. She doesn't want treated wood used. Is cypress a good alternative? Would there be something better that would last longer?

Plant Shelf - Dawn Redwood (from Kyle)

This was fun to design/build. Drawing it in Sketchup was harder than building it! The problem was cutting the curves in the sides that angle in about 6 degrees. Finish is just a coat of Teak Oil. This redwood darkens up really quick out in the sun. LOML had it loaded up about 5 minutes...

    Plant Stand Pics

LOML likes the plant stand from American WWer, link here http://www.americanwoodworker.com/userdocs/articles/200206/thismonth/page2.html This would go in the living room. I want to modify the plans, using a triangle center post, straighten the arm lines, and replace the discs used in the AWW...

1st Lathe project: Cherry plant stand

After spending some time with DaveO and his patient mentoring, I put my new lathe to good use. The wife of the folks who gave me a ton of beautiful cherry last year mentioned that she would love to have a plant stand sometime, so, here it is. You folks sure are right ...... lathework is a...

    Plant stand project

My daughter wanted a plant stand for all her plants. Steel/welding part was 1-1/4" square tubing. All powder coated. Full wood drawers underneath with full extension ball bearing slides. They still need the handles installed. Shelves are 1x12 redwood with marine varnish. Solid mahogany...

    Plant Stand Pics

LOML commissioned a plant stand to go in a corner of the kitchen. Red oak, Danish oil finish (required to meet strict time deadline!). The legs are splayed 4 degrees, making this was my first project using blind tenons cut, which I cut with a self-centering doweling jig. I believe I prefer...
