My poor little girl, the Jet Midi lathe VS1014 was in need of some bearing replacements. It should be a very straightforward process, you know the whole 'knock out a bearing and just replace it' kind of thing. I just thought I would share the repair in the event someone might be concerned...
:help:I have recently bought a new, old stock 46-250 Delta midi lathe. Now I find the bed extension , 46-855 has been discontinued. The 46-463 appears to be the same. Does anybody know if it will fit the 250?
Delta midi lathe in classified section just received a price reduction and a correction to the included items with the ad. The original wrench, live tail end and center drive are also included.
Thanks,
I'm looking in to purchasing a mini or midi lathe with new or used as long as it's in good working order. Can anyone help with recommending the best lathe for the money, under $500 preferably $200-$300? Jet, Delta, Ricon, etc... What are a few things to look at when buying used?
Thanks,
Was in the Raleigh re-store earlier today, they have a delta midi lathe and extension bed;
plus a Crown and a Woodriver(pinnacle?-- sorry don't remember) chisels for $450.
Didn't see the spur center or the tail center.
Don't know how the price is, just a FYI.

I have been thinking about picking up a good used Shopsmith or a midi lathe. Since I am primarly interested in the lathe aspects, how good of a lathe is the shopsmith. I figured that there are a few other uses i would have for it such as horizontal boring. Thanks for your inputs
Wow, searching the web for replacement parts for a delta midi lathe is frustrating! I'm looking for a new tool rest base for my lathe, or preferably just the hand screw that tightens the rest itself at your desired height and angle. Does anyone have any idea where I could purchase this...

Father in law mentioned he wants a lathe, for making small bowls and other stuff. I did mention that the necessary tools will cost more than $19.95.
