i want to upgrade my crosscutting capabilities, let's say money is not a big concern in this. I've done budget buys until this point and now i'm ready for the best.
first idea....it seems a lot of folks get the 40 tooth general purpose forrest blade and get great crosscutting results. I use a...
I've been looking to replace my cheap, delta bench saw for quite some time. Each time I found a viable candidate via Craigslist I was beaten to the punch. So I then settled to buying new and had my heart set on the Grizzly G0715P Hybrid. The 3 HP variants were just too expensive for my...
I purchased a Forrest 20 ct carbide rip blade earlier this year as a trial. It is a standard kerf blade and works reasonably well. When I use it I notice I get a lot of wobble in the cut no matter how slow I feed the stock. I can live with a little wobble since the rip line will be jointed...
Earlier this year I purchased 40ct thin kerf blade at Woodcraft on a whim. Mainly it was to see if all the hype about Forrest was true. At first the blade performed well. Good cuts but there was a fair amount of splintering on the bottom side of a crosscut as opposed to their advertising claims...
Unfortunately for me, the results are not surprising in a good way
First, a little background. I have a Dewalt 7640, which is a 50t combination blade that was compared favorably with the WWII a few years back (2005?) - not better than the WWII, as I recall, but in the same league. I paid...
Forrest sharpening results (before and after) on a Dewalt 7640. This is difficult to photograph. The differences are noticeable in both visual and feel. This picture depicts the difference pretty accurately.
Forrest sharpening results (before and after) on a Delta 7657. This is difficult to photograph. The differences are noticeable in both visual and feel. However, the picture exaggerates the difference a bit.
I found this place that sells Forrest blades. They have a promo on 10" 40T Woodworker II blades ($79.95 plus coupons for sharpening). Looks like a good price to me.. http://www.forrestsawbladesonline.com/

In case anyone else has been waiting for a price drop on the Forrest Chopmaster blades like I have, they dropped the price yesterday. I ordered one of the 10". They have been staying around $120.
The 10" is now $106 and the 12" is $136.
10"...
I'm re-evaluating my current saw blade usage, brand, and sharpening service. I'm curious what the total cost of sending Forrest blades back in for sharpening runs? If you WWII users would share what the cost is including shipping I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

I recently was able to buy a Forrest WW 30 tooth ripping blade and a 30 tooth Freud blade. I ran 12 feet of Mahogany on both. The Mahogany was 2x8 and I ripped it all down to 1.75 wide. I then Ran some Hard Maple and it was about the same as the Mahogany as far as width and thickness. I couldn't...

So my understanding is that the Forrest Woodworker II is about the best table saw blade on the market. Is this correct? Also, where is the best palce to buy one? I'm looking at the 10" 40T 1/8". I'm getting closer to being able to set up and run my saw and I figure it should have an...
