Bas' post about firing brads (he mentioned it was therapeutic ) got me thinking and wondering..
What is the the most therapeutic thing you do in the shop? It isn't necessarily what you enjoy most; a lot of projects I really like to take on have some stress involved. For me, I think it is...
Had to empty the DC bag and clean the cartridge today (first time in about a year). Have been putting this off for a month! Sucked enough wood dust to last through tomorrow but got er done!!

If you look at the address bar when you go to our site, in addition, you will see an icon that identifies our site. At least you used to be able to. Since I rebooted the site a few days ago, that icon no longer shows up. At least on my mac running FF. Anyone else see this?
The old Disston that I just cleaned up is a D7 I think. A rip saw made between 1896 and 1917. I used it today and it cuts like a dream. Better than my new rip saw pictured here. 28inches and heavier too.

I'm looking for input regarding favorite finishes for sapelle. I want to pop the grain a little, and accent the reds in the wood.
Anyone have a preference or advice? This is my first sapelle project. This sapelle will be the rails and stiles for panels veneered in curly bubinga.

I think everyone has a favorite / least favorite wood - here's mine.
My Favorite is Red Oak - I like it's appearance - it finishes to a golden color without any tinting and I like it's open grain texture. For workability it's about as easy as it comes - machines like a dream. True green it...
Clay (Clowman) made this one for me had to be well over a year ago. It's made from one of my secret sauce maple pen blanks and is my daily writer, just feels right in my hand like it was made especially for me. Take a close look you'll see it's flawless, despite it's gets used daily. Clay made...
The favorite smilie feature is gone. Sorry. Either the author has to release a new version, or I have to finf a way to modify it to it will work again. If I do it won't be be for a while
I've brought back a feature that we had once before. Favorite Smilies. This allows you to create a list of the smilies that you want to show up under the editing box. We have quite a few smilies in our library, several hundred. Now you can select the 75 smilies you want to be YOUR default. The...
