This is my 2nd bowl.
It is made from a laminated stack of Red Oak board stock, purchased from Lowes.
I alternated the end grain to give a varied figure. The effect is quite stunning. If you turn the bowl in your hand, you get a pattern of 'flashes' as the end grain of each layer catched the light. Overall I'm please with this piece, but I wish I had made the walls thinner. I could always to back and do it later, but I doubt I will. It is finished with Tung Oil, 3 coats. This piece is constructed and finished the same as the Jatoba bowl, hence the similar descriptions.
