Got this on a whim 20 bucks. I cleaned it up with a wire wheel and oiled it.

I figure this Archimedes style Yankee probably was made 1900-1910. It has the original wood knob on the top, my guess it is Beech. It is not Rosewood.
Works well It makes 3.5 turns down or up, so based on simple math 700-900 rpm if the drill and operator are working correctly. It works really well for counter sinks. One thing I found is the bit tends to bind more in soft wood.

Having been the child of a contractor/carpenter, I was brought up in the time before power drills and these or an iteration of them were always in the tool box of a finish carpenter for hinge screws, etc. Good to see them put to use, as they are also quite in demand among the Amish furniture makers here on the mainland.

I have two Yankee Screwdrivers, but I've never seen one quite like that one
