WTT: Vintage Walker Turner Motor

I have a vintage WT motor – 1 HP, single phase, dual voltage, 3450 RPM that is way to fast for the application I have (bench top drill [press). I would like to trade it for a similar motor – single phase, dual voltage, 1725 RPM motor, ¾ or 1 HP. 3 phase would also work.

My motor is currently disassembled (taken apart to determine bearing size). It is pretty clean but needs work in terms of cleaning/painting, reassembly. There is some surface rust on the sheet metal center band. I have new bearings for it. Before I do any work to it I thought I’d see if anyone wants to trade.

If you have a motor to trade but can’t/don’t want to do the motor work on mine – let’s talk. I am willing to finish this motor up for the right deal. Pictures are available if there is an interest. Thanks for looking!

Rick,
Not sure if I want the WT motor...
But I do have a 1HP 1725 single phase motor that I could sell to you. (or sale and trade) we can come up with something if you are interested...
I get up your way from South Carolina, just not as often as I used to... (so you wouldn't have to worry about shipping or Pony Express...)

Thanks for the offer Hank. After some further investigation I discovered the right motor for this WT drill press is 1/3 HP - maybe 1/2 HP. I may have a lead on a rockwel/WT motor down in your neck of the woods. I would prefer a true WT branded motor but the rockwell will work. If this falls through I may get back to you to see what you have.
