WTB - Mantle

Daughter is building a house with a fireplace. Tried to talk her out of punching a hole in the roof, so she added another one on her deck/porch. Anyway, she is looking for a "chunky" mantle and matching corbels that have a weathered look. There are no reclaimed lumber places nearby, so...Road Trip. Any suggestions? I'm thinking in the ~4"X~8"X4'-6' range.

Thanks in advance.

I have a piece of red oak that is big enough. It has a couple of checks in it which give it a rustic vibe. I think you could weather it and make it work. I'm in Fort Mill, SC

EDIT: Ope, just realized you're also in SC but not very close. Probably not worth it.

It's not very close, but the little corner store in Meadows of Dan, VA has several finished mantles in various shapes and styles. Want to take a trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway? Stop by Mabry Mill if you do.

I have a piece in my building that falls into the chunky category. No corbells but is long enough to cut some off the length.

I have a mantle from a 100 yr old house that needs an end trimmed and dressed that you could have as it was free to me.
I also dismantled a 1796 or so log cabin with a friend and I kept the shorter logs plus 3/4 flooring and some odds and ends. The logs could be cut to keep the hand hewn part leaving the heart pine that im sure could be aged. Or it could be configured in other ways if it fit the look.
I'd sell some of the logs for a few dollars a board ft. Never really put a price on any but I know I'll never get around to doing all I had planned for it. Logs are in Kings Mountain. Approx 2.5 hour drive

I'm passing these on the my daughter. I'll hopefully have F2F time with her tomorrow. She has a lot of health related family distractions currently as well as a house build.
