I was in the Washington area this weekend and visted with Alan. I got the grand tour of his shop and what a shop it is. And with the plans he has (see his post with the back bench pics) it will be even more impressive when he's finished. Alan, I can see from the pics that you got in a lot of shop time since I was there. Alan is a very innovative and creative guy and I really enjoyed my visit.

I have to second your comments, Stuart! Alan sure has a nack for very innovative ideas. The DC, air compressor outlets, hoist and all of that space blew me away when I visited a few weeks back. Needless to say, he sure has a nice collection of tools as well!!!

Well worth a visit for those like me that have a habit of drooling over nice toys. 'r tools!

Thanks guys.

If I'm home, the shop is always open for tours.

I got backbench dividers and spacers finished and figured out how to mount my Sliding Compund Miter Saw. I made a recess in the wall (for the rails) and also mounted it on a sliding plarform so I can stow it without it sticking out past the edge of the bench. Tonight I started planing some oak for the face frames. Planed about 50+ bdft, but without planing my whole stack, I won't be able to tell how much QSWO I have. I will just have to make my cabinets with whatever comes off the stack. Oh well, its just a shop and the oak was really cheap.
