Hey Mark,
I have looked at those wooden gear clocks over the years and pondered :eusa_thin ?? Do the plans give you many tips on tools/techniques/jigs on how to construct the clock? On a side bar, my Dad has an OLD Seth Thomas clock with wooden gears that has been a family topic of conversation my entire life. The clock was a wedding gift for my Dad's great-great-grandparents ( think I got the correct # of greats). The regulation and running of that old clock is very nimby-namby with fluctuations in temperature and humidity, etc. I have oft thought about seriously checking into one of these new wooden gear clocks to build for my Parents as a Christmas gift. Anyway, a new wooden gear clock would be easy for one of these guys that use milling machines, metal lathes and such in their woodworking. I would imagine for use with "normal" woodworking tools, a bunch of jigs and fixtures would be in order, for instance to accurately cut the gear teeth, not to mention possible funky cutter shapes that may not be readily available?? Joe Scharle, care to enlighten some of us about how you made yours?? :eusa_thin?? This might be an interesting project for me after I finish this current "very complex" project that could take the rest of the year......
