Does anyone have or know where I can get wood for smoking? My BIL has a green egg grill/smoker

We are looking for wood chunks like apple, maple, hickory, alder, cherry, etc

I have seen bags of hickory chips in the store-------the other avenue is the firewood pile, yours or a friends. Maybe even trim a limb off one of your trees.

If you go to wally world or lowes they have bags of chunks mostly hickory or miskeete. I have access to one of those and mostly we use cowboy (lump) charcole with some apple shavings thrown in.

Also online you can order bags of chuncks. Kinda pricey if you ask me. shipping gets expensive.

Thanks Mark

Your local grill supply/accessory store will often have a broader selection than hickory and mesquite. :thumbs_up

I save all kinds of red oak, white oak, hickory, and cherry scraps from the woodpile or shop for smoking. Apple is harder to come by, but occasionally Mother Nature blesses us so jump on it!

Also dont forget If there is an orchard near the trim and most just throw away the limbs that is a good thing to remember.
