Although it seems that all I can do is make tables, this is proof that I will do other work when asked:gar-La;. A friend wanted this headboard built but unfortunately he just wanted it in pine. Oh well, he's the boss. More to follow.

What did I do wrong I can't see the pics?

Next time, open Gallery in second window, open picture to reveal full size and copy the contents of the "Best Size" block into your thread. Repeat with second picture. HTH...

Looking great Larry! And what do you mean, it's "just" pine - looks real purdy to me :)
I think you need another couple of planes to finish this project though.

That is some nice looking pine there, Larry!!:wsmile:

I would say that the headboard is coming along quite nicely. Am sure that it will be well appreciated!

(Nice shavings coming off them there planes!!!!:icon_thum:icon_thum:icon_thum)

Thanks for sharing!

That's looking good. Are you doing the panel raising by hand? If so, I'm impressed! I would like to have a true panel raising plane in the arsenal!

Looking good Larry. That will make a good looking headboard. I like pine furniture myself.

wow those are some wide boards and no heart wood or knots - looking great. keep in mind pine actually contains a little natural solvent so glue it up good.

Thanks for fixing my post Mcrabbit. Man I hate computers:BangHead: The pine came from our local building supply and is called C and Better. Its used mostly for baseboards, moldings, ect. Yes I am raising the panels by hand. With wellsharpened and tuned planes and well behaved wood its easy to do. I try to hand plane all surfaces before glue up. It cuts the sanding to almost zero.

Nice looking head board Larry and that pine looks very mild to work by hand - nice. Your design or the clients? Lovely looking shop BTW. Where is Ahoskie? never heard of it, but then why would I??????

David, Its a design that I came up with some time ago. This is the second one I've made. Ahoskie is about an hour north of Greenvilleand about an hour south of Norfolk Va about an hour west of Elizabeth City and an hour east of Roanoak Rapids. In other words, in the middle of nowhere but its home.
