Why I am behind...

This is why I am not tolerating dial-up or pc time at this moment. This is a shot of the area where I am vacationing. The lake in the lower part of the picture is Lamoka - some of you former NYers may be able to place it as it is in the Finger Lakes area between Seneca Lake (Watkins Glen) and Keuka Lake (Hammondsport). My cottage is located in the lower right hand part of the picture underneath two of trees in the group of three. This is where I will eventually spend my summers, set up a small shop and sell authentic, hand crafted wood crafts to tourists who think $25 for a handmade pine lazy susan is a deal!!! :lol: Will try and catch up when I return, but I noticed there are over 1300 posts since I last checked in! :cry:

It is beautiful country in the Spring through Fall, but oh how I remember those 100+" snowfall accumulations in my hometown of Rochester. I grew up on Canadaigua Lake and will travel there a week from tomorrow to visit my 94 year old Mother who spents her summers on 35 acres of family property on the west side of the lake. It is real pleasant this time of year. Enjoy your vacation at your cottage.

I remember the days of driving up 96 through the lakes from home to school. It's as pretty as any postcard...and as dangerous as Russian roulette if it's snowing!

I'll be back there for a few days in early August, for a golf tournament and a visit to the NorthEast Kingdom in Vermont. Beautiful country. Sure do miss winters and skiing. :-(
