Rounded leaves = White Oak, right?

All of the other oaks are dying. There are two larger ones that don't seem to be affected yet, or at least to the point that it is visibly showing. May decide to bring them down and mill for some nice lumber.

Looks like Oak Wilt , if it is, you need to remove them now if there are other healthy trees near. Normally, we limb the tree burn the slash then drop the tree.

It is spread by usually by insects from one tree to another. No cure I know of.

I had to take down half a dozen white oaks last fall that were dying or had died for no apparent reason.

Many years ago I had some large trees dying for no apparent reason, oak included. I was told to look back over several years, not sure how many years, and look for severe drought conditions. A large tree can take years to die.

I may reach out to the local Ag agents and see if they can take a look. Pretty sure they could ID the issue.

Sad for them. One of them is about 2' and the other is at least 3' diameter. Good for me if I decide to have them milled up.
