Where do you get tyour sandpaper?

Im looking for a cheaper source for the 5 inch 8 hole hook and loop sandpaper. I have been going to local stores but they sure do seem expensive. Any suggestions on where you get yours would be great.

Even if it is a little more expensive (though I don't think it is in most cases) than other online retailers, I prefer to support local business.

Klingspor, Klingspor, and what I don't get from there, I get from Klingspor. If Klingspor doesn't have it, then I probably don't need it. The only problem I have with Klingspor is their quality is TOO GOOD. Stuff lasts too long. I get the stock to make my disks 6", 9", and 12" from their bargin bin. Cut out a circle and spray the back with adhesive. I use their 5" X 5 hole H&L paper on my ROS's. Buy 3 X 21 belts from them also, along with rolls in bargin box that I cut to go on my finish sander. Get my silicon carbide for the "scary sharp method" their also.

One more vote for Klingspor. The price is a little higher but you will be amazed at the quality and how long it lasts. Much better then the BORG "stuff".

I'm glad that Bruce invoked the three primary rules of abrasives buying -- Klingspor, Klingspor, Klingspor! I couldn't agree more!

I buy my 5" x 5 hole and 5" x 8 hole ROS Hook & Loop disks in 50 packs (5 - 6 different grits each), special grits in 10-packs (up to 1200 grit in H&L disks) and 25 meter rolls of 6" hook & Loop paper in 3 grit sizes for my Woodmaster Drum Sander... Why? Price/performance cannot be beat and they give us a 10% discount. Nobody make as good a product as far as I'm concerned.

Klingspor used to have a site called Sandpaperplus.com. If you find it you can get some bargains there. It's not coming up???
The last time I was in their store they had a large clearance on 5" Hook & Loop discs. Been a while so YMMV.

Since nobody else has mentioned it yet, I recommend you go to Klingspor! If I recall correctly, the box of 5" hook-and-loop was per disc 28% cheaper than the stuff at the Borg, and lasts twice as long. Compared to other retailers, after you factor in shipping - well you get the idea.

Surprised nobody else here on NCWW has found out about this place!

I raid Bas' shop when he is away at work or on business trips. He usually has what I need. If he doesn't have what I need - I "yoda" it from DaveO's shop.

Do we need to start taking up a collection for gas for you to get to Klingspor's? It must be at least TEN MILES from your place to Klingspor's. With such a long journey, you may want to ride a pregnant mule, so as to have a way back home.:rotflm: Have you wife drop you off on the way to Haines Mall. Be sure and get the credit card from her though.

I get most from Klingspor. I have a 3"x18" belt sander, and belts that size are hard to come by. I found a good source on Ebay, from a seller with the handle of barbkat. I have the business card buried here somewhere.:icon_scra

I can't believe Klingspor hasn't been suggested yet. I get the boxes of H&L from them, and raid the bargin bin ( pay by the pound I believe ) for other needs.
