Perhaps if you could band saw a slice off so the wood is smoother to illustrate the grain and coloration it would help, as well as a leaf or leaves although I m sure this is a piece of timber you happened to come by.

Here’s another picture with bark.

That piece of wood is not green wood that's been freshly cut. It's old and it's been drying out for awhile (see the end check crack in pic 1).

Was there an earlier thread with pictures? I can't find it if there was.

hard to say with any degree of certainty with limited photos, but that bark looks a lot like white oak. A rip cut and some leaves would go a long way to help with the answer.

i think the zapruder film had more clarity. enough jokes...but i'll admit that look at every post like this. love the "what is this" topics.
