It's a fairly popular strategy game for 2-4 players. The object is to move your pawn (a single playing piece) across the playing board to the opposite side. First player to the opposite side wins. Your pawn can move forward or back, left or right, but not diagonally. You try to slow down your opposing player(s) by setting up walls (the rectangular pieces) across any given two squares. Walls cannot be placed to completely block advancement. With each move, you can choose to either move your pawn or place a wall. Any wood would do. I chose to make the playing field and storage box from Baltic birch plywood, with a cherry inlaid strip around the 4-sides of the playing field. The walls are cherry. The pawns are scraps from cutoffs of walnut, hickory, maple, BB plywood, just sanded into shapes to further differentiate them and then weighted in a drilled-out cavity in the bottoms.
I feel like i already posted about this..but its progressed-so lets call it an update if I have.
Never use our "garden" tub..so we converted it to shelving/storage using some cheap knotty pine.
Of course, the lady didn't like the faucet and handles marring the finished look and she got inspired..always dangerous.
She thought it would be cool to hide the faucet/handles with something like a planter..which then seems to go with the
weeds she painted on the wall long ago.
I didnt have enough leftover pine to make a full planter, so i did a "half" that slots onto the tile/moulding etc.
Still trying to decide how to finish the "planter"

Wrapping up this vintage delta bandsaw restoration. Certainly my most comprehensive up to date. I rebuilt another to sell to fund this saw. Most all parts came from Iturra, with the exception of a few vintage ebay finds.
Will be repowered with a 1.5 HP 115V motor I got off another machine until I eventually upgrade to a VFD controlled motor for full speed control.
Would love some community input on general purpose and resaw blades. I’m leaning toward Lenox, but open to recommendations. At this point, I’m not penny-pinching on the saw, just trying to make it the best it can be.

General purpose blade- 14 tooth 1/4”.
Resaw blade 1/2” skip tooth 3 teeth per inch.
Lenox or Starrett.

The woods are dyed veneers for the black, yellow, orange, and greens (I believe all may have been poplar). The lighter color is mappa burl, which is a European black poplar burl. Still need to cut to size and finish it.
I'm making my wife a counter weighted wall easel for mixed media artwork.
I've made free standing ones from plans a few times. Mostly for gifts, and improved somewhat on the design of a couple, but this will be a first to design from the ground up. Most easels are fee standing, but there isn't enough room in her area for the kind of size she needs so I decided to try a framed type system with separate upper and lower on slide rails with counter weights. I hope it will hold 75lbs across 4 feet without sagging or being impossible to use.

I have the same bandsaw and it needs one part. The blade guard cover over the blade on the left side. From the time I bought this saw its had a piece of wood cut to fit over the blade. It dows the job but I would like to get it back to original entirely. As someone said earlier -- thats when they make real machinery. The weight of the castings makes the saw purr like a cat compared to another 14" I have used.
I don't mean to sound like a booster but I do a bunch of veneer work and the bandsaw is central to that claim. I use an old 20" but the motor is too small for big cuts. When this is the case, I'm off to New Hill to see Scot Smith. Scot has a great machine in his shop and he cuts for you if you give him a phone call in advance.
Lastly, for the small saw I wood get a blade from Union Grove here in NC. They have some nice blades and they sharpen the blade down the road after they are used. Give them a call.

Being new.. Are you cutting your own veneer from stock with the band saw ?
Sent you a PM about a spare blade guard I've got.
Scott is the man! He let me use his blasting cabinet to clean up all the parts on this saw. It came out of a fab shop in eastern NC, and was in very rough shape.
I'll check out the union grove folks.
