FWIW, I did make an iPad stand for daughter in law that was simple and functional - just an angled slot in a piece of hardwood - so made a second for us. I was considering posting it but I’ve been too lazy to widen the slot to accommodate new ipad with case. So no pics of it in use. I also made some biz card holders that now retired work as decent phone holders, but they are over 5 yrs old.

I don't know if this counts... but it's what I'm currently making hahaha. I live in a 360sqft tiny house and I needed more storage space in the bathroom. I decided to make a "Medicine Cabinet" in the wall and just continued the existing shiplap through the cabinet and used the gaps for the glass I had. I previously picked up a late 30's medicine cabinet for free that had the mirror and glass shelves I installed.it was too wide and deep for my situation without more modification than I wanted to do. So I decided to take the glass out (it is actually teardrop shaped at the front lip which is very neat and I had to carefully sand about 1/8" off one side to make each shelf fit), and I took the mirror off the front and used it. The mirror has some corrosion but I don't mind it. The bottom piece of thick black glass is really cool from an older vanity cabinet. It has this cool wave and ripple pattern on the top. It is getting a Black Walnut or White Oak (possibly Zebra Wood) surround to fill out the bottom of the cabinet and catch any wet items like my toothbrush. My tiny house is like a tiny Arts and Crafts style house from the 20's/30's so a little age showing isnt a bad thing. I used a magnetic spring catch I already had even though it is huge but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and is exactly what I needed without spending any money really. Thanks for looking.

I think you might have missed where it says “insert” on the selected image and then you can choose thumbnail or full size. I’ve seen it behave differently depending on browser and whether on PC or a mobile.

You were exactly right, thank you. I also resized them quick while. I was at it. Sorry for the confusion I'm still learning this process here!

Cool! About to try one soon as I dig out some scrap for turning stuff, got a lot of thin pieces so may need to laminate some, and then sharpen the chisels - just got a cbn wheel and got part of a sharpening jig finished - just now going over my dimensions to check that I can set angles at close to desired. If I get it right, I'm going to try a slide whistle for the granddaughter.

If you dig around on the internet numerous sites show location of finger holes an pitch an tone an reed style an so much more.. on whistles - flutes etc.

Just a WAG... Grand dad would make these.. Widgets.. old wooden sewing spool, an #2 pencil - an rubber band. an gob of paraffin wax. The wax when heated would some what affix the pencil to the side of the wooden spool, the rubber band, was the tension. When wound up, an let this widget loose on a hard wood floor it would do assorts of spins an flips.. I was 5-6 yr old..

Been a looooong time since I’ve seen a nut type weight retainer but then I’ve also never used many since aortic valve issue has always limited me to light weight so I’ve gotten by with dumbells.

This isn't woodworking per se, but it does apply.

My regular dust collection setup doesn't like to play nice on my lathe, especially when turning acrylics. The biggest issue is clogging when you get those long ribbons of acrylics.

My 5hp shop vac with a dust deputy works better. I thought that adding a funnel to the system would make it work even better. So I designed the funnel to fit an existing fitting and fabricated it on my 3d printer - a Bambu P1S with AMS. The modeling, in Fusion, was simple, and slicing in Bambu Studio was pretty easy too. The print took less than an hour

Huge success. The funnel catches more waste material than the 90degree elbow alone. I catches shavings and dust, both acrylic and wood. It does not get in the way.

It probably won't work for blanks bigger that 1.5" x 1.5", but I don't much turning on blanks bigger than that. In fact most of what I turn these days is 1" x 1" and pen blanks. Tis is also made for a blank that is ~ 4". I can change all of that to suit.

The whole schmere is held to the tool rest banjo with a bungi cord. Not ideal, but replacing that will come later.

I am near the end of my gate project and thinking about the next several designs I want to build.
So, I was wondering what everybody else is working on.
Even if you are not ready to show it to the world can you please just give us a hint?

One of the things I have worked on and built several times were shave horses.
Still not happy with any I have, so thinking about ways to improve work holding, comfort for long work hours, portability,
storage, and unique design features.

Currently working on a 48”x 38” cabinet (shelves, drawers, etc.) for tool storage. Part of my goal to organize everything (plans, hand tools, accessories, wood, etc. throughout my shop. Basically trying organize my woodworking life! It turns out that such organization is a lifelong journey!!!!! Who knew?

A day late, been diverted with a back/nerve flare up… but here is the actual widget in action - holds an old laptop webcam on my desktop monitor since engineers at Microsoft were too shortsighted to consider that laptops would soon all have builtin webcams and that it would be more useful if it fit on desktop monitors. In fact I just used it today for a video call.
