Hi Everyone,

I've been in the area for about 10 years now, originally from The Netherlands (or Holland as it's usually called). After watching one too many episodes of TOH and Woodworks I decided this was something I'd like to do. That was about 6 months ago. Since then, I've progressed from just making sawdust to also making wood chips!

My current project is getting the shop rewired so I can upgrade to a decent table saw. Being able to run the dust collector at the same time as the tools would also be nice. I've found that running them separately doesn't really do much.

Bas.

Welcome to the sawdust pile Bas. Lots of good info on this site. You are from a beautiful country. I enjoyed my visit there a few years ago.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

Mark - thanks for the offer, I'll take you up on that as soon as I master stripping screws.
Tom - The Dutch pick on the Belgians, but I'm sure we can substitute nationalities :)

Man, you look so much like a friend of mine named Karssiens that it's eerie! Right now he's a Dutchman living in Shanghai!

If you really want to see a wierd guy, check out Roger (Sapwood) in his Ready Kilowatt hat- now that's wierd. Welcome to this site and also be sure to check out Triangle Woodworkers. We meet the third Tues of the month over at Klingspors on Capital Blvd. That is, except Sept, when we are having out kickoff dinner for the 2007 Toys For Tots program , on the second Tuesday (Sept 11th). Being originally from Cary, I can say most who live there now are wierd. You will fit right in.

Thanks for the heads up Bruce. I've received several hundred messages warning me about Roger, so this vicious rumor you've started must be true :) As soon as my schedule returns to normal I will come check out Triangle Woodworkers.

BTW, how many people usually do the Klingspor/ Harbor Freight combo trip? Everything you want but can't afford, then everything you can afford but don't really need.

Thanks again everyone for the warm welcome.
