Weekend finds: Miter Box and 2 saws

Merry Christmas!

Enclosed are pictures of items I found this weekend. I got an old miter box, a tenon saw, and what is left of a dovetail saw. The price was too good to leave them.

Does anyone know what could be the brand/maker of the miter box? i think the wood is a replacement of the original. No label on the back of the wood or makers mark on the iron.

That ain't a kink, that's a break. So that plate will have to be replaced, bring it with you when you come and see me and we will order a new one. The cost on that isn't very expensive.

I think that miter box is an old Stanley. They had something like that in the 40s & 50s.

Richard is right - the "bones" on that saw are still good - and plates are "cheap" AND you got "some Grey haired dude" to help you make it right!
