WC Discount Questions?

Ok, I must admit, I have never taken advantage of the NCWW DQ program. I am qualified, but what I don't remember and can't find in the FAQ in regards to Woodcraft are:

What it is worth- what % ? Fixed or depends on item?
What products/brands can it generally be applied to?
What brands are usually excluded?
Can it be combined with any other discounts, e.g. Birthday discount? (I assume it can't)

Does anyone know if WC still mails out or gives a birthday discount?
If they still do, what is it that worth- %, is it more or less than the NCWW discount?

And why do I ask . . . . . . wait for it, wait for it . . . . I will be making the long trek to the Raleigh Woodcraft sometime in the next few weeks to use the "Top Shop Contest" first place prize gift certificate I just got in the mail today!!! :eusa_danc:eusa_danc:eusa_danc:eusa_danc And I want to maximixe my return!

Pretty much the same rules as on the birthday coupon you got from Woodcraft.

I would wait until Woodcraft has one of their 10 percent off everything and extra 5 percent off early bird sales.

WC's B-day discount is 10% AFAIK they are still sending it out. I got one last year, haven't had a b-day since. Back in the good ol days when Tom was managing the store, it could be my b-day almost anytime I went in there. Now it's once a year if I'm lucky:cry_smile

Travis is correct on the discount program at Klingspor. You can get 10% off any non sale item that doesn't have a tail, or is made of cellulose. And it can't be combined with any other discount offer.

Yes, DaveO is correct. The WC B'Day discount is still 10% or at least it was when I used mine back in September. :icon_thum

Hey, It doesn't hurt to ask "Is this the best you can do?" I do every time I purchase anything there and most of the time I get a little something knocked off unless it was an item on sale already. Ask for Herb and tell him what you have in mind of getting and I think he will work with you.

It's worth a try and can't hurt anything.

I was a little annoyed with the WC birthday coupon as I am a December baby. It can't be combined with other offers, so that basically means it can't be used as there were specials of some kind or another through the whole period. But the specials only barely if even kept up with the discounts from other vendors during the same period. Had I been able to also use my 10%, they would have been competitive. I do buy "gotta have it now" items from them and they do have a reasonably priced house line of gouges and chisels. But mostly I browse their close outs.

Andy, Have Woodcraft change your birthday to any other month you want. I did that with many customers who had a December birthdays.

They are still sending it out and it is 10% I just used mine right after Christmas.
