USER EMAIL ISSUES

If you log into the forum and can't post or do much of anything (other that view the forums), you likely have been detected to have an invalid email address on file.
To get out of the state use the "Contact Us" button at the bottom right of the page to send us a note with your corrected email address.

More on the recent email. Everybody who was a registered user AND had opted in to receive emails from us was sent an email two days ago. Out of the roughly 10,000 accounts we have, we got bad email bounces for 1500 of them. This annoys our email provider so I had to address that. Only 30 of these bad email users had logged into the site in the last year.

In addition, EIGHT PEOPLE clicked a button on their mailer that reported our post as spam. Understand, that YOU OPTED into THIS. You can opt out yourself under preferences at any time. You jeopardize the operation of the entire community by spuriously reporting us as SPAM. Anybody who reports us as spam will no longer receive email from us because their account will be PERMANENTLY BANNED from the site.

Those whose email just went bad (because they moved email providers but didn't update this site), will be put into the temporary mode listed above until a new email is provided.

You can opt out of the site sending you emails, but you MUST give us a working email to be a user of this site.

The other problem is some email filters periodically flag good emails as spam based on some content. The emails ends up in their spam folder. The reader eventually sees it, reads it and instead of marking it "not spam" just deleted it. That tells the spam filter to always send emails from that sender to spam. After that I think the only way to fix that is to add the sender to your list of contacts.
