Found this video and thought you might enjoy it. I found it very interesting, the video quality is great. The camera even goes up to the top to view the cutting of the top sections.

That's a BIG Elm Tree.

What an interesting post and thanks, Charley. That's a monster tree that apparently was succumbing to Dutch Elm disease so it had to be removed...carefully!

The rest of the story...these trees don't end up in a landfill. Take a look around their site and at their unique products. BTW, take your virtual checkbook for a second mortgage too.

I'll post a separate thread about a 217 year old elm that was removed in Yarmouth, Maine. Only about 3,000 miles east of Portland.

I had a couple of oaks taken out of my back yard in that same manner last year. They craned the sections over my house from the back yard to the front. But they were twigs compared to that elm!
