I have alot of pine logs from where I have cut them down around my land. I was woundering if it is possible to turn pine into bowls or such?? I imagine it can't be turned to thin because of the nature of pine. If anyone has done this or knows of anyone that has done this please let me know and show pictures if you have any... Thanks

These were turned out of Pine (not by me but a turner named Bill Hall)

Of course they were soaked in epoxy before being turned that thin :-D

I actually like turning pine, especially for learning new techniques or tools. Pine is so soft that it shows instantly when you have the bevel rubbing or not.
Certainly pine will never replace hardwoods for most projects but its very cheap (especially when you already have a bunch of it) and can be useful if you plan the project out with its limitations in mind.
