Trying to break DaveO

Ok, I'm trying to push Dave over the edge and get him to start in on the pens. Here's a picture of some recent ones. Left to right: Afzelia Xylay, cocobolo, Wenge (I think), zebrawood, bethelem olive wood, mesquite, canarywood, cocobolo

Great looking pens Clay.:icon_thum Your getting really good at cranking those things out. I am spurring Dave along also. I have a pen and pencil kit all packed up for him. I am also going to loan him my mandrel, bushing, 7mm bit so he can try his had at turning a couple pens. Hopefully I will be able to pass this stuff off to him Tuesday evening at the TWA meeting.

Thanks guys! I'll trade scraps for pens I've just got to get that CA finish down pat. I dont' think I've been more frustrated in a long time, as to getting that finish down pat. Go go go Insom! You know you can feel it welling up inside you!

Clay, I really like the cocobolo and olivewood ones. Now I am sure that my scrap will be in good hands. You make some perty pens. I have a very adictive personality, and that is why I am fighting pen turning. I know once I've made one I won't be able to stop. Y'all may create a monster. But I am gonna give it a try. Are you ready for even more posts from me:lol: :lol: I am sure I will have tons of questions.

I have a mind to sell them eventually, but I'm still trying to get the process down. I did sell that second one from the left to my neighbor. He came over when I was putting a pen together, and he just wouldn't put it down. He was well pleased with it.
