This is an art piece for a company in Chapel Hill that invests in, owns and manages sustainable North American hardwood forests.
Each side is about 6'w x 8.5'h.
About 360 pieces of North American HWs all natural, just poly finish. Pieces are pre-assembled onto 6 panels for installation.
9mm BB ply backer. 1/2" thick pieces (some have 3mm spacers for depth). 3 coats wipe-on poly.
They are growing rapidly, so the panels are removable and if a corner does not exist in their eventual new space the edges are somewhat book matched to be joined co-planar.
They are partnered with Sumitomo Forestry who has a "mascot" call Kikorin. See if you can spot it in the piece.
There is an accompanying console table to go under their logo that I failed on the top finish (don't know what happened - I've used this finish schedule on cherry a dozen times before), so that will come later.
A fun and rewarding project. Thanks for looking---
