I am taking down a 100 year old barn and trying to salvage any of the wood that is not rotten. I am worried about bugs. I have seen some little (and I mean teenie tiny) gray bugs in some of the pieces. I have sprayed the wood several times with bug killer but I need to be sure before I use it. Does anyone have any tips that are cost effective for treating and checking for bugs?

I know the Barnwood Builders treat theirs. Saw an episode where they did that. Don't remember if they mentioned what they used but they had to have it inspected because it going out of state.

Talstar will get most anything. It used as a termitecide.

Scott Smith, scsmith42, is not far from you in New Hill. He has a lumber mill and kiln. He should be able to sterilize it for you.

I am planning on putting it in the entry way to my home office above my garage to make it look like an old barn. I’ve got a nice barn light as an additional touch.
