Toybox Bookcase

I just completed this toybox bookcase project for my little nephew. This is definitely not fine woodworking but it presented a challenge to me because it is hard to do big projects in my small shop. As I have gotten older large pieces are difficult for me to handle. I made the bookcase and toy box separately to solve the size issue. The bookcase is joined to the toybox by connector bolts. Once connected the unit is very solid and stable. I am not worried that little Tarzan will tip it over. This is the project the Watco wipe on poly gave me finishing problems.

Interesting concept. I don't think that I have ever seen anything like it. He has a special one - of-a-kind piece.

I see you left an air space in the bottom box in case he decides to play hide and seek inside the box. Smart thinking.

Interesting, multi-function design that doesn't take up much space. It looks really good too!

I think that is the new anarchists' tool chest design; tools in the bottom, book storage on top! LOL
