Mike, you have interesting problems. 
I'd suggest anything not fully functional (the blue handled plastic hammer) go first, then duplicates, giving "keep" preference to items without a wooden handle.
Obviously, your preferences may be different but that's my 2 cents. BTW, I only have 3 hammers lol.

My dad used to collect hammer heads and re handle them when he wanted to pass time. I inherited the proverbial box of hammers that everyone says is so dumb. Having said that, I would keep the center dead blow hammer and drop the other two, and dump the wood handled 16 oz. hammer. The rest I would keep, but that's just me and my box...............

I think 5 need to go.
If I had to name the hammers I use most: a 10 ounce claw (the small size fits easily in my tool bag kit and it is surprising useful); an overpriced 16 ounce claw - just because; a non marking dead blow hammer; a rubber mallet; and, a 4 lb sledge for the kindling splitter. I have a couple of heavy framing hammers and a few others, but since I started using pneumatic nail guns, they sit idle

I'd keep a dead blow. I'd probably keep a ball peen just because. Framing hammer? Do you use it? As for the lighter finish hammers, I prefer a straight claw although there are times I've needed a curved claw.

I use the sledge a lot. It’s my metal forging hammer. I have to bend 1/4 inch stainless steel rods to 90 degrees.
Having a shop, garage, boat house and tool bucket for my ramp building I need multiple items like hammers. I have 3 framing hammers, two rubber mallets, one dead blow, one small sledge and a couple small hammers that my grandson used when he was young. The multiple ones are there so I don't have to run back and forth.
Here's my thoughts...
Not sold on which ball pen, but keep one of those. Toss the wooden handled claw and the framing claw if you're not driving framing nails. Either fix or toss the plastic faced mallet, maybe keep the burgundy claw or just use the last claw for everything. The other two are unique enough to keep around.

That’s what I was thinking.Only 12 hammers?
Fwiw, pretty much agree with the deletions: not sure about the 2 big black ones on left - look like small sledges. I’d just go with the small one on right. If they’re rubber, then same thought, go with your one pref. My wood handle claw is my grandfathers so I keep and use it, but I do like my rubber/fiberglass handled claw. My bigger demo/framing claw will go eventually. For my part, singles of other types will suffice.

I see 2 dead blow mallets and one rubber mallet, no?
If you really want to whittle down the collection, here are my suggestions:
- Keep the framer, but get rid of all but one of the smaller claw hammers.
- Get rid of one dead blow mallet
- Get rid of the rusty ball peen hammer (rusty means you don't use it)

I buy bundles of pencils at yard sales for pennies, I don’t care what color they are. Actually the bright colors are easier to see across the shop.
